We still have a lot going on so please read through this email to see how you can help the boosters.
February 14 - Monthly band booster meeting at 6:30 pm in the large band hall. There will also be a short presentation at the beginning to discuss how the 9th graders will be included in the Mighty Unicorn band (logistics, schedule, etc.) Agenda will include our next big fundraiser in March.
Additional tuxedos - We have the last of the tuxedos in and have fitted the students. There are about 6 tuxedo pants that need to be hemmed. I already have a few moms helping. If you are able to help and can finish them by the concert on Monday, February 6th, please contact me.
Officer/Chairman elections - The nominating committee is currently looking for officers for next year. Basically, all positions are open. If you are interested in something, please send me or Kate McCarthy an email.
NBWGI - Our next BIG fundraiser is on March 10th (yes, the first Saturday of spring break - the guard never takes a break :(
This is a winterguard competition and we have 56 guards signed up right now.
This is an all day event and parents can help in two ways:
1. We need volunteers for parking, cooking, concessions, ticket sales, and door admissions. The student leadership team will also be helping. I will have a volunteer sign up sheet at the February booster meeting. Shifts will be 2.5 long.
2. Parents can also help by donating sodas or water for this event. We are asking for the following:
16oz bottles of Coca-Cola (regular)
16oz bottles of Diet Coke
16oz bottles of Dr. Pepper
16oz bottle of Sprite
donations are used to help offset concession stand costs. The money raised from this event benefits the WHOLE BAND, not just the colorguard, therefore we are asking all parents to consider helping. The money goes into the band booster general fund.
Band Banquet - There is a band banquet planning meeting on February 11th from 10am to noon. contact Kate McCarthy for more details.
Spring Fling - scheduled in May (all day band concerts). This year we will be selling tickets for a meal and having a raffle/silent auction. The student leadership team has been given details on their section providing a raffle/silent auction basket. There will be more details to come after February.
Website - The website has been update with new photos; financials and minutes.
